Whether you're raring to go or needing time to ponder and reorientate, I wish you some spring sunshine.

I've written and talked about endings and beginnings and how a new beginning needs a 'happy ending' or at least a well managed one. I got to thinking a bit more about the transition between the two. This can be a particularly challenging time especially in a western results-focussed culture. We need to be moving, we need to have identifiable goals and outcomes. Nothing wrong with that in itself but there are times in life when another approach or attitude is needed.
If we are moving from one stage in life to another, we need time and space in which to let go of the old and prepare for the new. If life has presented us with a challenge or circumstance where we do have to 'wait', for a baby to arrive, a loved one to die or a house to become vacant, we can feel helpless or stuck. We are treading water, marking time - all these cliches that remind us that the place of waiting and just being is not a familiar one.
Some of you may follow a spiritual practice which develops an acceptance of this mode of being. A psychological resource is William Bridges' classic 'Transitions'. Interesting how my attention was drawn to it as soon as I began to think about this!

Are you in the Waiting Room? One of those transition times when you can't go back and you can't go forward? Life's for living, even in the Waiting Room. Invite me in to coach you through this special time when new possibilities are brewing.

Here's a lovely place to explore your waiting time with me. Bute Holistic Breaks is taking advantage of a wonderful new venture on the island. I've had the pleasure of lazing in front of the wood stove here. i've been involved in a workshop. I go there for my own time out!
An Tearman is a place of retreat run by Monica, another good friend. She offers a comfortable space for workshops or private time out. If you'd value time out to take stock, you can do that in this place of peace and welcome. I will come to you for the coaching sessions. You can make it even more special by booking a complementary treatment. Massage, crystal healing, reflexology, beauty treatments - you name it, we'll do our best to source it.
Book as an individual or as a group. Ring me for your coaching plan on 01700 500489. I can arrange your accommodation with Monica but feel free to call her for further details on 01700 500554

I'm indebted to my friend and colleague Nikki Wyatt who came up with the name The Waiting Room when I was describing my new coaching focus. I've known Nikki for some years now. She led a session of the Tran sformation Game which was a revelation for me and for the friend I played with. I benefit from time to time from the flower essence blends she makes up for me - and from her sense of humour. Read what Nikki aka 'The Karma Coach' has to say.
'My aim is to bring balance and healing by putting you in touch with your inner wisdom and power, helping you reconnect with love and intimacy by releasing family conditioning and karmic patterns. Ultimately most of us want happiness, fulfilment and abundance; whether that's more love, money, intimacy, better quality relationships or more meaningful work. Everything I offer, including flower and crystal remedies, are potent catalysts for removing blocks to experiencing these things in your life.'
To get a taste of what the essences can do you can get a free soul flower report when you sign up to Nikki's newsletter.

It's great to see such vibrant reviews on Amazon for How to Stop Flogging a Dead Horse. They've been there for a while though and I could do with some up- to-date ones. I know that some of you have given copies away to friends and family. You can have your own free copy in exchange for writing a review. This will help connect me to a new wave of readers who can benefit from the book.
What to do. If you haven't reviewed for Amazon before, it's quite easy. Just go to the page and click on the link which says 'write an online review.' Do that, write the review and email me a copy. (It can take some time for Amazon to put it up on the site, so if I have the text, I'll know what to look out for.)
SNAG. I only have 10 to give away so first come first served!
